Hi fellas,

Yesterday While I was on my Linux box running RHL 6.0 and KDE I tried to
access a .pdf file. X crashed and so did all my virtual terminals -- I
was at my prompt with line drawing characters I tried the usual method

cat
^N
^D

and nothin' happened.
I then tried

reset

and no change. I then tried SVGATextMode with no parameters and it just
worked fine and returned me to the console with readable characters.I
then restarted X and KDE.

My X crashed after working for sometime and returned me to the prompt
(which was readable now).
I logged out and tried to login again which resulted in a strange
message which started flooding all my tty? 's The error message was this

" ll_rw_block : device 03:43 : only 512-char blocks implemented(4096) "

(Without the quotes ofcourse :))

I had no control over my keyboard and had to make a hard boot.

On rebooting my machine turned normal with fsck deleting one inode.

I dunno what the problem was and why did I receive the error message.

Before all this happened I compiled some gtk programs which worked just
fine.

Any one got any pointers on this ??

Thankin' U fellas in anticipation,

Siva
