Not necesarily. A compiler may know the language as well, but
rarely better, than the best programmers out there.
A number of compiler products out there seem never to have
been tainted by any contacts with the standards. PC compilers ahve
been more guilty than most about this, and even gcc, be default,
inplements a language that is not C.
But lets not get started on standards conformance of most
compilers out there.
