U must remember that most of there mfrs do not provide support for
Linux. I have found that only manufacturers who are really proud of
their products like Matrox, 3Dfx, ATI, SGI provide any kind of support
on Linux.
If the mfr feels that his product is superior than the others, he would
only be too happy to flaunt his superiority bu opening up the
programming specs. On the other hand, SiS and Co <who make better
chipsets than say 3Dfx>, would be really hesitant to open up their specs
cuz the world would know how *good* their cards actually are!
