Hi dude,
Will it work... yes it will! But will it *really* work... I guess not.
No distribution follows any particular file heirachy standard to the
fullest. What might go to /opt/ in RHL might go to /usr on say Debian or
Suse. In other words, thing are not truly portable. 

The Suse SiS RPM is a differrent case. There is only one(?) binary in
the archive and the only place that it can go by default to is
/usr/X11R6/bin. This will not break any thing.
