Using the tools to compile is just fine. However, such compilation may
result in linking of your application to some libraries. If the libraries
are LGPL'ed, you're ok. However, if the library is GPL'ed you are not ok.

Most common libraries - libc, libg++, libstdc++ are LGPL'ed AFAIK.
