I am using vacation 1.2.1 on Red Hat Linux 6.1 which I picked up from ftp://rpmfind.net/linux/contrib/libc6/SRPMS/vacation-1.2.1-1.6.1.src.rpm. The program works fine and sends mail to the original sender using .forward file. But, it does not pick up the .vacation.msg file from the user's directory. Hence, the only mail the original sender receives is a blank message just giving the To: and From: addresses. Doing a mailq after vacation has put the message in the mail queue shows an error - mailer died with signal 213. Also, the same vacation program works just fine in Red Hat 5.1 with sendmail 8.8 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- LI is all for free speech, but this list was created for a purpose -- to help popularise Linux in India. If your messages are counterproductive to that purpose, your privileges to submit messages can and will be revoked.
