WWWOffle is something different. It is a proxy for Dial-Up Internet
links. Squid is recommended for LANs users to access the Web thru
one/more dial-up connexions.
WWWOffle can be configured over Squid but I doubt U can fully substitute
it for Squid. In Debian GNU/Linux, one can configure WWWOffle over
Squid during installation. I have configured Squid to reject
ads/banners after going thru an article on the same by Raj Mathur on
Linux Journal. WWWOffle is also configured for taking off other
signs/banners and it runs on top of Squid.
