Hi

 Assume that you have innstalled staroffice under the directory
/Staroffice. Then search in /Staroffice/bin. You will find it one file
soffice. Run it. It will run.

 And bye the way, Staroffice does not set itself up like other packages
under /opt(typically KDE packages). Programs like wordperfect and
staroffice ask for user specified installation directory and usually tell
you how to run it in a Readme in that directory.
