I have installed PC quest Nov99 Linux REd HAt 6.1 since 1 month.
I am having PIII/64MB/17GB with Win98 & linux 6.1
I am not able to use linux regularly since I am not able to go on the net.I
have been watching similar problems on this list & accordingly I have tried
out those options. But I donot get connected to the InterNet. Sometimes the
connection redials if I use RHPPP Dialer. I have already edited the file
/etc/ppp/options & put noauth.
I have also checked wvdial.conf file & chap-secrets files.
I have also tried Wvdial which does not work.
Also I am not able to configure sound card. My sound card is Creative
PCI128.
I have tried soundcfg but it does not show hardware configuration for the
sound card. It only gives option to start the Sound Scheme. Now I want to
start using Linux more regularly & also want to try mailserver at my office
also.
I had also tried Kppp as suggested by Mr. Shridhar.
It gets connected but Netscape does not get connected to any of the sites
saying not available.
Pls. help.
