Hi,
I've started to make the IrDA control center (again), this time using
Python and GNOME/GTK+. Since I'm a terrible artist, I need help to make
some pixmaps. The pixmaps should be of size 48x48 and each of them should
display a printer, PC, PDA, LAN connection, etc. The format is not really
important, but PNG is what I will use in the end.
You will then get a window which shows the "network neighborhood" of
discovered devices, and you can use drag-n-drop with files to the pixmaps
in the window to send files using OBEX, IrLPT etc. This could be really
cool, so I hope that somebody wants to help me.
Start with one pixmap at a time, and send it over to me when you think it's
worth using. A first version is better than no image at all.
PS. The reason why I use GNOME is just that I like it. If somebody uses
something else, then they must be prepared to do some work
themselves. Sharing these pixmaps between a GNOME or a KDE GUI however, is
not the worst problem I can think of.
PS2. The reason for Python, is just that we need a high level language to
develop the GUI's we need fast enough. I tried Perl once, and I like Perl,
but I the "cleaner" syntax of Python makes the code much more maintainable
(at least for me).
