That explains it! If you don't run irmanager, you will limit the speed of
the connection to 9600 bps ;-) The Linux IrDA device drivers needs
irmanager to give the a process context when changing speed, so the driver
can wait until all previous data has been transmitted before changing the
speed so that outgoing frames are not chopped and sent partly in different
speeds. I could have used timers to do this but then the dongle drivers
would become _very_ hairy. Irmanager seems to be doing this job pretty well
tho' (as long as it's running ;-)
