I have my laptop (a Thinkpad 600E) hotsyncing via IR with my Palm V
using kernel 2.2.10 and irda-utils. It works pretty well, but it slow
(I'm getting maybe 1-1.5 kB/s throughput at most). I checked with
/proc, and the interface is running at 115200 bps.

It looks like PalmPilots don't like running at 115200 bps (the fastest
they will run on a real serial port is 57600), so under Windows, I
forced the speed of the IR port down to 57600 and got much better
performance. Is there a way to do this under Linux?

As an aside, does anyone know about getting the Thinkpad 600E working
in FIR mode? It appears that the chipset is from Nat Semi, based on
the names of the driver files under Windows, but I haven't been able
to find anything else out yet. The pc87108 driver fails to load.

I'm not on the mailing list and the archive at www.ita.chalmers.se is
down; could you please cc: me on replies? Thanks.
