I'm writing success report about irda. Well - it is currently only
reasonable way how to connect my two notebooks. If you wonder what 'MS
CD' is, then it is cdrom with microsoft explorel, bent, and used as
mirror. (So it is actually usefull :-).
Well... I was only able to get 115k200 working. pc87108 driver
(required for thinkpad) loads, but I did not yet figure how to
correctly initialize dongle so that it works. (I'm partly afraid that
I'll burn the leds..) If you have any hints how to make dongle work,
please tell me.
Also, there's problem with toshoboe + MM: toshoboe needs some dma-able
memory, but can not be built into kernel (see my prev. mail). Well,
only way to get enough DMA-able memory was to put mem=16M at command
line. (I know this is not irda problem, but it hurts.) In case
toshoboe fails to allocate memory, it refuses to load, but fails to
free io port range, so you can not even try again :-(.
