Hi everybody,
Kernel 2.4.2 is out, and it contains the following patches :
http://www.pasta.cs.uit.no/pipermail/linux-irda/2001-February/002487.html
http://www.pasta.cs.uit.no/pipermail/linux-irda/2001-February/002488.html
http://www.pasta.cs.uit.no/pipermail/linux-irda/2001-February/002489.html
http://www.pasta.cs.uit.no/pipermail/linux-irda/2001-February/002490.html
First, congratulation to Dag to have managed to get Linus to
read his e-mail ;-)
What this means for the rest of us :
o Kernel 2.4.2 should be safer and better than 2.4.0 for most.
o The patch "patch-2.4.1-pre8-irda1" won't apply to 2.4.2.
o We are one step closer to get the USB dongle driver in the kernel.
What's in the pipeline :
1) Fix static compile of IrDA stack (init/main.c -> irda_proto_init();)
2) ir240_ultra.diff (fix for Ultra sockets on SMP kernel)
3) ir240_clean_tsap_obex.diff (fix for Obex hint bit)
4) NSC suspend fix
5) ALI FIR device driver
5) IrDA-USB driver
6) ir240_spinlock.diff (need to be checked)
7) IrLAP naming proposal (need to be polished)
8) CONN_PEND patch
9) VIA VT8231 IRDA Linux driver (we can always dream ;-)
Did I miss anything ?
Have fun...
Jean
