Dear Everybody,

The Toshiba Satellite Pro 4600's irda port not supported by default in the linux
irda's smc-ircc driver.
I've read messages on the linux irda list about to make it work, but my efforts were
unsucessful.
Toshiba-tro's techical information says the the irda chip is SMC KONA.
I can't find SMC KONA chipset on the www.smsc.com pages.

Assuming that the SMC IRCC chipsets ( FDC37N869, FDC37N958, FDC37N971, FDC37N972 )
have the
same configuration interface I tried to detect the chipid, and modify the smc-ircc
linux irda driver.
The problem is that I can't get the chipid, possibly because the chip's configuration
io port is not
on 0x3f0 or 0x370. Somebody said on linux-irda list that some vendor remap the chip's
configuration address
to other than these. Ex. Compaq Armada remap this address to 0xe0.

I tried to hack both the smc-ircc driver and findchip...

Can anybody tell me
1. which SMC chipset is in Toshiba 4600 ?
2. what is the chip's configuration address instead of 0x3f0, 0x370 ?

Thank you in advance !
