Does any one know what resources are used by SIR mode on the toshiba oboe irda chip? I have a portege 3020ct, and I've been trying to get lirc (http://www/lirc.org ) working on it using the sir module. I realize that this is not the list for lirc, but I was just wondering if anyone on this list was familiar with the oboe chip to know what resources the sir mode of the oboe uses. Is it the same as fir mode? Does this chip even have an accessible sir mode with the irda module not loaded? does it use the same resources as a comm port? Any advice would be much appreciated.
