I've just tried out my 8210 with my laptop - works fine! (Well as fine
as 9600 can be ;-( )

My laptop is running 2.4.5 kernel... (with pppd 2.4.1 - that got me!)
and irda-utils (I cant remember.... is there a way to find out?)

I basically do the following:

irattach -s /dev/ttyS1

and then I use minicom to connect to /dev/ircomm0

Whats the actual error messages?
