I am trying to use the infra-red port on a Linux laptop to act as an
infra-red sniffer.
I am using irdadump to try and read messages which I generate on a PIC
controller.
These are replays of earlier IRDA messages, but I hope to eventually look at
non-IRDA protocols.
irdadump is not really suitable, as it does not report the messages I send.
OBviously the
linux device drivers implement IRDA protocols (IRLAP etc) at a level below
the normal operating system.
I have a series of questions which I would be grateful is someone could
answer:
a) Is there a description of how to control the device driver anywhere. Can
I put the
device driver in 'sniffer' mode to report on ALL packets?
b) Is the source code to the device driver available anywhere, so I can see
how IRDA protocols
are implemented ?
Much Thanks
