Hi all, I've just got my USB IrDA dongle working and its great (Sitecom Fast IrDA adaptor). I've got it working with my cellphone and PDA, I've even got a PPP connection working with my laptop.
I now want to get it working with LIRC (Linux Infrared Remote Control). There's plenty of documentation on how to get it to work with a serial dongle but nothing on the USB ones. I've tried making the utilities talk to /dev/ircomm0 (and /dev/ttyS1) but they refuse. I've got the lirc_serial module but I'm not too sure on what to do with it, it seems to want a serial port all of its own and won't attach itself to the ones set up by irda-usb and irtty. Am I chasing an unreachable goal? Has anyone done this before? I'd love some advice. Thanks in advance for your help.
