Is it possible to get a simulated irda connection that uses the entire
stack without hardware?

Here's what I am trying to do:

I am working on a project that uses the irda stack to discover other
connections. To test this, I have written a program that accepts irda
connections and talks to our project. Right now I have irattach-ed ttyS0
and ttyS1, and I have a null modem cable between the two serial ports.
However, this causes my computer to "discover" itself. The two programs
work okay, other than that the program that discovers tries to connect to
two different things.

Is it possible to do this without using the serial ports?

Timothy
