I am trying to use IRCOMM on an arm based board and a laptop. The
assabet runs 2.4.6-rmk1-np2 and the laptop runs a 2.4.14 kernel. I run a
getty on the assabet and use minicom on the laptop. As soon as the minicom
initialises the ircomm0 device the assabet responds with a flood of
"login" packets, but the laptop does not get these packets. Only
rarely does one packet arrive on the laptop. The flood of packets
continues till the link is broken. Fail to understand what is going wrong
or right in this situation.
Even when I try IRNET and ppp on both ends , only the rare packet
arrives on the laptop. But using "irobex_palm3" utility Im able to
transfer files in both directions. In some cases the transfer is
succesful but irdadump shows a flood of packets and the application has
not yet terminated. Only by moving the device away will the flood
stop. Why does this happen.
I would be grateful for any help in this matter and am sorry if
this has been discussed before.
