Hi I'am trying to connect the s25 mobile via a tekram irmate 210b serial adapter. I'am allways getting this damned "IrLAP, no activity on link!" when I'am using tools like the s25 manager 4 linux <http://www.na.linux.hr/projects/s25manager/> or the s25 logo uploader <http://www.na.linux.hr/projects/s25-logo/>
Detailed informations follow: irda-utils-0.9.14: I had to use the patch from Pavel Roskin to get irdadump compiled with libtool 1.4 <http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=447682&group_id=5616&atid=305616> uname -a: Linux mirage 2.4.16-xfs #1 Sun Jan 6 23:08:40 CET 2002 i686 unknown libtool --version: ltmain.sh (GNU libtool) 1.4 (1.920 2001/04/24 23:26:18) lsmod: Module Size Used by Tainted: P ircomm-tty 30944 0 (unused) ircomm 12892 0 [ircomm-tty] tekram 1952 0 (unused) irtty 7584 0 (unused) irda 139628 0 [ircomm-tty ircomm tekram irtty] serial 44096 0 (unused) NVdriver 820544 14 (autoclean) emu10k1 59456 0 ac97_codec 9632 0 [emu10k1] usb-uhci 22500 0 (unused) dmesg|grep tty: ttyS00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A ttyS01 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A ls /dev/ir*: crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 161, 0 Jan 5 22:06 /dev/ircomm0 crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 161, 1 Jan 5 22:06 /dev/ircomm1 prw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Jan 6 03:23 /dev/irkbd crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 10, 187 Jan 5 22:07 /dev/irnet irattach command: irattach /dev/ttyS1 -d tekram -s 1 debug enabled: echo 1 /proc/sys/net/irda/debug irdadump: 02:32:31.659955 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=0 (14) 02:32:31.749952 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=1 (14) 02:32:31.839951 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=2 (14) 02:32:31.929947 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=3 (14) 02:32:32.019954 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=4 (14) 02:32:32.019938 xid:rsp efabb2f3 < 06151743 S=6 s=3 SIEMENS S25 hint=9024 [ Modem IrCOMM IrOBEX ] (28) 02:32:32.109949 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=5 (14) 02:32:32.199950 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=* mirage hint=0400 [ Computer ] (22) 02:32:34.659955 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=0 (14) 02:32:34.749949 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=1 (14) 02:32:34.839949 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=2 (14) 02:32:34.929948 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=3 (14) 02:32:35.019953 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=4 (14) 02:32:35.019938 xid:rsp efabb2f3 < 06151743 S=6 s=3 SIEMENS S25 hint=9024 [ Modem IrCOMM IrOBEX ] (28) 02:32:35.109947 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=5 (14) 02:32:35.199949 xid:cmd efabb2f3 > ffffffff S=6 s=* mirage hint=0400 [ Computer ] (22) tail /var/log/kernlog: Jan 8 03:27:30 mirage kernel: Serial driver version 5.05c (2001-07-08) with MANY_PORTS SHARE_IRQ SERIAL_PCI enabled Jan 8 03:27:30 mirage kernel: ttyS00 at 0x03f8 (irq = 4) is a 16550A Jan 8 03:27:30 mirage kernel: ttyS01 at 0x02f8 (irq = 3) is a 16550A Jan 8 03:28:28 mirage kernel: irda_init() Jan 8 03:29:09 mirage kernel: IrCOMM protocol (Dag Brattli) Jan 8 03:30:53 mirage kernel: IrDA: Registered device irda0 Jan 8 03:30:54 mirage kernel: irtty_net_open() Jan 8 03:30:54 mirage kernel: irlap_change_speed(), setting speed to 9600 tail /var/log/messages: Jan 8 03:30:53 mirage kernel: IrDA: Registered device irda0 Jan 8 03:30:54 mirage irattach: executing: 'echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/irda/discovery' Jan 8 03:30:54 mirage irattach: Starting device irda0 Jan 8 03:30:54 mirage irattach: executing: 'echo mirage > /proc/sys/net/irda/devname' -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- After starting some tools like s25 manager /var/log/kernlog shows: Jan 8 03:35:17 mirage kernel: irlap_change_speed(), setting speed to 115200 Jan 8 03:35:24 mirage kernel: IrLAP, no activity on link! Jan 8 03:36:30 mirage kernel: irlap_change_speed(), setting speed to 9600 That's it! The IRDA option is enabled on the phone and it shows the symbol for a connection. But nothing else happens. It "worked" somehow before (tried also with older kernel 2.4.13) but it just erased my wonderfull quake3logo since it couldn't transfer the entire logo :| I'd like to play a bit with sms sending tools and extending my server to a personal sms center but I thaught that I should start with some little tools like the logo uploader... Hope the information provided will help you to find bugs. Sorry if this is a RTFM question but I couldn't find any usefull information on this topic. Thanks in advance Stefan -- One Unix to rule them all, One Resolver to find them, One IP to bring them all and in the zone bind them. _______________________________________________ Linux-IrDA mailing list - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pasta.cs.UiT.No/mailman/listinfo/linux-irda
