I've been trying to get my sharp zaurus (MI-C1) pda to connect to my linux machine off and on for about a year now, and at last I have tasted success.
But not very often, repeatably, or reliably... And so I turn my hopes to this list, along with my little remaining energy. The pda is trying to establish an ircomm link with my linux machine and then a ppp connection over that. The ppp part works fine, if only the connection happens. The connection happens very infrequently, with no change in software parameters, and I see the same behavior with my linux desktop/tekram dongle and an ibm thinkpad. My only complete shot-in-the-dark is that both machines are trying to be the server. What I'm really hoping is that someone who knows more about irda than me can spot something in this irdadump log.. First the attempt to establish a connection fails, with the linux box giving up first and then the pda, then I try again to initiate the link with the pda and it succeeds, logs in, and works happily ever after.
