For a few months now I've been using my PDA (a Palm m105) with IRDA to
hotsync and do some PPP experiments. Everything is working flawlessly
except it is really slow. The speed stays constant at around 20kbps.
In windows with an identical setup I seem to be getting about 115kbps,
although I have no way to measure it accurately. I've been trying to
diagnose the problem myself by searching mailing lists and USENET, but
have been unsuccesful. Any help would be appreciated. Here is some
information which may be relevant:

max_baud_rate defaults to 16000000, but what i set it to makes no
difference, not even slowing the link down.
