For a few months now I've been using my PDA (a Palm m105) with IRDA to hotsync and do some PPP experiments. Everything is working flawlessly except it is really slow. The speed stays constant at around 20kbps. In windows with an identical setup I seem to be getting about 115kbps, although I have no way to measure it accurately. I've been trying to diagnose the problem myself by searching mailing lists and USENET, but have been unsuccesful. Any help would be appreciated. Here is some information which may be relevant:
max_baud_rate defaults to 16000000, but what i set it to makes no difference, not even slowing the link down. irlap: device name: irda0, hardware name: tts/%d1 caddr: 0xee, saddr: 0xaab56b00, daddr: 0xe9592319 win size: 1, win: 1, line capacity: 4800, bytes left: 4800 tx queue len: 0 win queue len: 0 rbusy: FALSE mbusy: FALSE retrans: 0 vs: 3 vr: 6 va: 2 qos bps maxtt dsize winsize addbofs mintt ldisc comp tx 115200 500 512 1 5 1000 12 rx 115200 500 2048 7 0 5000 12 itttp: connected: TRUE, avail credit: 1, remote credit: 13, send credit: 2 tx packets: 13030, rx packets: 23699, tx_queue len: 0 rx_queue len: 0 tx_sdu_busy: FALSE, rx_sdu_busy: FALSE max_seg_size: 509, tx_max_sdu_size: 0, rx_max_sdu_size: 0 Used by (IrCOMM) typical output from irdadump: 03:27:51.885675 i:cmd < ca=ee pf=1 nr=1 ns=1 LM slsap=02 dlsap=14 (273) 03:27:51.885728 rr:rsp > ca=ee pf=1 nr=2 (2) 03:27:51.905663 rr:cmd < ca=ee pf=1 nr=1 (2) 03:27:51.905704 i:rsp > ca=ee pf=1 nr=2 ns=1 LM slsap=14 dlsap=02 (22) 03:27:51.925665 i:cmd < ca=ee pf=1 nr=2 ns=2 LM slsap=02 dlsap=14 (5) 03:27:51.925712 i:rsp > ca=ee pf=1 nr=3 ns=2 LM slsap=14 dlsap=02 (36) 03:27:51.945671 i:cmd < ca=ee pf=1 nr=3 ns=3 LM slsap=02 dlsap=14 (5) 03:27:51.945724 rr:rsp > ca=ee pf=1 nr=4 (2) 03:27:51.955775 rr:cmd < ca=ee pf=1 nr=3 (2) 03:27:51.955830 rr:rsp > ca=ee pf=1 nr=4 (2) 03:27:51.965675 rr:cmd < ca=ee pf=1 nr=3 (2) 03:27:51.965714 rr:rsp > ca=ee pf=1 nr=4 (2) system: Debian GNU/Linux 2.4.16-586 i686(Via C3) modules loaded: irda irtty ircomm-tty ircomm device: ActiSys ACT-IR210L on ASUS CUV4X-C mobo I've tried multiple Hotsync apps, but I normally use jpilot. -- Devin Bayer _______________________________________________ Linux-IrDA mailing list - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pasta.cs.UiT.No/mailman/listinfo/linux-irda
