Difficult to tell without an irdadump, but it usually mean
that result of the connection parameter negociation is not good. Most
likely, the hardware doesn't like the speed (which is usually a bug in
the driver).

This mean that the data you are reading is bogus. You receive
a "Beggining of Frame" within a frame, which is INVALID !
Most likely reasons :
o interference on the medium
o crappy hardware
o the peer's implementation of IrDA is buggy
o serial FIFO overrun (processor can't keep up)
o ...
