I updated my system from 2.2.10 to 2.2.12+irda patch 3, with the following interesting results: gsmctl now works, no longer missing the LF characters it expected back from the Nokia 8810 (which is therefore now correct). However, now I too cannot dial out, getting NO CARRIER: Sep 14 16:51:45 herring chat[1031]: abort on (BUSY) Sep 14 16:51:45 herring chat[1031]: abort on (NO CARRIER) Sep 14 16:51:45 herring chat[1031]: abort on (NO DIALTONE) Sep 14 16:51:45 herring chat[1031]: send (\d\d\d\d\d\dATZE0^M) Sep 14 16:51:51 herring chat[1031]: expect (OK) Sep 14 16:51:51 herring chat[1031]: ATZE0^M^M Sep 14 16:51:51 herring chat[1031]: OK Sep 14 16:51:51 herring chat[1031]: -- got it Sep 14 16:51:51 herring chat[1031]: send (ATD08450798666^M) Sep 14 16:51:52 herring chat[1031]: expect (CONNECT) Sep 14 16:51:52 herring chat[1031]: ^M Sep 14 16:51:57 herring chat[1031]: ^M Sep 14 16:51:57 herring chat[1031]: NO CARRIER Sep 14 16:51:57 herring pppd[1030]: Connect script failed Sep 14 16:51:57 herring chat[1031]: -- failed Sep 14 16:51:57 herring chat[1031]: Failed (NO CARRIER) Sep 14 16:51:58 herring pppd[1030]: Exit. So this is definitely consistent behaviour for 2.2.10 vs the latest version. Previous log appears identical up to this point: Sep 8 15:19:56 herring chat[16402]: send (\d\d\d\d\d\dATZE0^M) Sep 8 15:20:02 herring chat[16402]: expect (OK) Sep 8 15:20:02 herring chat[16402]: ATZE0^M^M Sep 8 15:20:02 herring chat[16402]: OK Sep 8 15:20:02 herring chat[16402]: -- got it Sep 8 15:20:02 herring chat[16402]: send (ATD08450798666^M) Sep 8 15:20:03 herring chat[16402]: expect (CONNECT) Sep 8 15:20:03 herring chat[16402]: ^M Sep 8 15:20:12 herring chat[16402]: ^M Sep 8 15:20:12 herring chat[16402]: CARRIER^M Sep 8 15:20:26 herring chat[16402]: ^M Sep 8 15:20:26 herring chat[16402]: CONNECT Sep 8 15:20:26 herring chat[16402]: -- got it Sep 8 15:20:26 herring chat[16402]: send (\d) Sep 8 15:20:27 herring chat[16402]: expect (ogin:) All very very odd. Will try to do some more debugging. Justin _______________________________________________ Linux-IrDA mailing list - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pasta.cs.UiT.No/mailman/listinfo/linux-irda
