Hi! I've still got problems running IrDA on my Vaio N505X. Looking at the kernel boot msg it's a serial interface: ttyS02 at 0x03e8 (irq = 4) is a 8250 I changed it to IRQ 10 with setserial (to the same interface that legacy disk monitor from Redmond uses): setserial /dev/ttyS2 irq 10 port 0x3e8 Then I start irattach an irmanager -d 1, which gives me: Nov 3 14:25:00 mini irattach: Serial connection established. Nov 3 14:25:00 mini irattach: tcsetattr: Invalid argument Nov 3 14:25:07 mini irmanager: executing: 'echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/irda/discovery' Nov 3 14:25:07 mini irmanager: executing: 'echo mini > /proc/sys/net/irda/devname' At that point my old DELL worked fine (even with the error msg about invalid argument. The Sony doesnt do anything. What really p... me off is that the disk monitor mentioned above does work! I got the info from Sony hotline today that the chip in use is a Intel NS, PC9733 8VJG with IrDA standard 1.2 Any ideas?
