Hi,
I've just spent the last couple of days reading as much as I could stuff
into
my mind about IrDA in general and the Linux IrDA poject in specific.
I've come across a standard called IrBUS / Ir CIR (Control IR).
As far as I understand, this standard/protocol is an altenative to
Ir SIR / Ir FIR which basically allows for simpler link, addressing and
control of general appliances, as well as ensures longer ranges of
operation
(5 meters at the minimum).
Is this standard well accepted today?
Do Ir Chipsets support it?
Is it a matter of chipset support or is it pure software support?
Does Linux-IrDA support/ will support it?
Can the same physical properties of Ir CIR (namely distance) be achived
using the other IrDA standards?
Shechter.
