Hi A few problems using this dongle... 1) Using kernel 2.3.39 and irda-utils-0.9.5, airport appears to be broken:- > irattach /dev/ttyS0 -d airport Dec 6 11:28:44 shrtlinx kernel: IrDA: Registered device irda0 Dec 6 11:28:45 shrtlinx insmod: /lib/modules/2.3.29/misc/airport.o: unresolved symbol irda_execute_as_process Dec 6 11:28:45 shrtlinx kernel: IrDA: Unable to find requested dongle 2) I have the following in /etc/conf.modules: alias tty-ldisc-11 irtty alias char-major-161 ircomm-tty alias irda-dongle-0 tekram # Are these needed? alias irda-dongle-1 esi alias irda-dongle-2 actisys alias irda-dongle-3 actisys+ alias irda-dongle-4 girbil alias irda-dongle-5 litelink alias irda-dongle-6 airport 3) If I only select a subset of dongles to include (as modules) at kernel configure time, it doesn't seem to find the airport dongle at all. The esi dongle is working fine, however! Any clues on how to set about fixing it, and I'm more than happy to have a go at fixing/testing it (e.g. what should we replace calls to irda_execute_as_process with?)
