Hi to everyone Well, I'm new to this maillinglist. I really need some hints from the IRDA-Profis, cause I didn't get my IRDA working resp. the wierd thing is, that somethimes it works fine (specially in the train :-). Well 1 out of 40 times it works, that means I can see my cellular phone (Siemens S25) in /proc/net/irda/discovery. I re-read the mailing-list archives an the ir-howto more than 100 times (ok 30) and really need helps. PLEEEEASE !!! Well my hardware: IBM Thinkpad 600E Siemens S25 System: kernel 2.2.13 / highly patched irda-utils 0.9.5 enlightenment (no sound in the kernel, no esd) depmod -a ==> works fine Devices should be correct (I guess :-) root@Fanny:~ > ls -l /dev/ir* crw-r--r-- 1 root root 161, 0 Dec 14 14:40 /dev/ircomm0 crw-r--r-- 1 root root 161, 1 Dec 14 14:40 /dev/ircomm1 after a irmanager -d 1 (in devices irattach /dev/ttyS1) messages in /var/log/messages Dec 15 11:58:21 Fanny 1.1 Tue Nov 9 15:30:55 1999 Dag Brattli Dec 15 11:59:05 Fanny irmanager: executing: '/sbin/modprobe irda' Dec 15 11:59:05 Fanny kernel: IrDA (tm) Protocols for Linux-2.2 (Dag Brattli) Dec 15 11:59:05 Fanny irmanager: executing: 'echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/irda/discovery' Dec 15 11:59:06 Fanny irmanager: executing: 'echo Fanny > /proc/sys/net/irda/devname' Dec 15 11:59:10 Fanny irmanager: + 1.1 Tue Nov 9 15:30:55 1999 Dag Brattli Dec 15 11:59:10 Fanny kernel: IrDA: Registered device irda0 Dec 15 11:59:10 Fanny irmanager: + 1.1 Tue Nov 9 15:30:55 1999 Dag Brattli Dec 15 11:59:10 Fanny irattach: Serial connection established.
