Hallo Thomas.

I'm sorry to say.. no luck yet. (although I don't want to pretend I was busy with that
all week... I just had some other things to attend to...). I used Linux Kernel 2.2.13
patched with sony-patch.2.2.13 for sound, patch-2.2.13-irda12 for IrCOMM, and provided
with pcmcia-cs-3.0.14 (with CardBus support, and using /etc/pcmcia/network from
RedHat, not the pcmcia-cs distribution). I believe patch-2.2.13-irda12 contains the
ircomm-tty.o driver instead of ircomm_tty in patch-2.2.13-irda3. And that must have
been wat made my machine hang while "checking modules depencies...". I gave up for a
while, in the meantime installed RH 6.1 on it, and will try again a bit later.

It's a saying I recovered from the early seventies, and it means: "The year 0. We stop
everything, and think. And that is not a sad thing." I thought it was appropriate for
the time. Maybe, since the digit 0 was not known in Europe in the year 1000, we will
discover that counting the years really works modulo 1000! It's more romantic,
I think, to start again.
