Hi,

Have just released patch-2.2.13-irda25 and patch-2.3.36-irda1. These
patches are now in sync with each other, so pick your choice! You'll find
them at:

        http://www.cs.uit.no/linux-irda/snapshots/v2.2
and
        http://www.cs.uit.no/linux-irda/snapshots/v2.2

Changes:

o Fixed NSC driver so it will work with other NSC chipsets like the '338,
and renamed it to nsc_fir. If you want to try out 4Mbps on your Thinkpad,
then you must do something like this:

  1. rmmod serial (to avoid conflicts)
  2. modprobe nsc_fir dongle_id=0x09 (you must select the IBM dongle!)
  3. ifconfig irda0 up
  4. echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/irda/discovery

You might have to change the DMA and IRQ settings! Other laptops using
this chipset might need to use a different dongle setting!

o Started fixing the SMC driver as well, so please contribute!

o Many other fixes as well ;-)

Todo (before 2.4):

o IrLAN needs to be fixed, but it should work anyway. The problem is that
it registers the net device from interrupt context.

o SMC driver needs more hacking. Should be quite easy to fix!
