According to the information I got from Compaq/Digital the Digital HiNote
Ultra 2000 has a NSC 87338 and not NSC 97338 built in. The documentation of
those chips says, that they are quite similar. As I wrote earlier, I cannot
make it work with nsc_fir. The initialization fails where it tests the value
at offset 0 of Bank 3 (nsc_fir_probe). This value should be 2Xh according to
the documentation. But the returned value is 16h. So my questions are: how can
I found out if I really have a NSC 87338 built in and if it works with nsc_fir?
