I brought up 2.2.14 on a P-II, applied the irda patches, installed
irda-utils-0.9.8, and tried to use the JetEye dongle, but the thing is
not working. Observe:

# lsmod
Module Size Used by
ircomm-tty 16800 0 (unused)
ircomm 5700 0 [ircomm-tty]
esi 472 1
irtty 4572 1
irda 70433 2 [ircomm-tty ircomm esi irtty]
# ps ax | grep ir
 8426 ? S 0:00 irmanager -d 1
 8431 ? S 0:00 irattach /dev/ttyS1 -d esi
# ls -l /dev/ircomm*
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 161, 0 Jan 19 18:08 /dev/ircomm0
crw-rw-rw- 1 root root 161, 1 Jan 19 18:08 /dev/ircomm1

I also tried killing irmanager and irattach and starting irattach with
the -s option:

# ps ax | grep ir
 8569 ? S 0:00 irattach /dev/ttyS1 -d esi -s 1

but still no go.

I'm trying to talk to the thing with a Palm V running PalmOS 3.3 (the
version that can actually hot-sync over the infrared port; I had done
this successfully under 2.2.10 a couple of months ago). I tried with
both ircomm devices, and neither worked.

Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone successfully used ircomm with
the JetEye under 2.2.14?

Thanks,

/ji
