Hi, Just wanted to tell you that the combination above works fine and you can use /dev/irnine for your ppp or kermit just as an ordinary serial port. Thanks boys !!! One small hitch is that this generates a message that fills up the log, it says: Jan 19 22:59:14 lifebook irmanager: Unknown service discovered! Jan 19 22:59:14 lifebook irmanager: executing: '/sbin/modprobe ircomm_tty' Jan 19 22:59:17 lifebook irmanager: Unknown service discovered! Jan 19 22:59:17 lifebook irmanager: executing: '/sbin/modprobe ircomm_tty' Jan 19 22:59:20 lifebook irmanager: Unknown service discovered! Jan 19 22:59:20 lifebook irmanager: executing: '/sbin/modprobe ircomm_tty' Jan 19 22:59:23 lifebook irmanager: Unknown service discovered! ..... And so on. Anything I can do about this ? The setup is: Standard drivers from 2.2.5 kernel (RedHat 6.0) The newest (?) irda utilities.
