Hi all,
I am trying to get all of this working under the above configuration. I
have set everything up as suggested in the IR-HOWTO following the
instructions for the SH888. In theory it should have "just worked", but
instead it just didn't, but didn't give any clues as to what was wrong.
I need a bit of clarification on what bits of the stack go where. What I
am trying to achieve is to talk to the DI28 modem (which speaks the AT
command set) from Linux. Actually dialling up will be the next thing to
try :)
When the macserial module is loaded, it correctly detects the IR port
and assigns it to /dev/ttyS1. My question is, what modules do I need to
load to get it working *manually*? (I'll try get it working
automatically later once I know it works)
Also, with the modules correctly loaded, what device do I talk to using
my terminal program? Is it still /dev/ttyS1? Or is it one of
/dev/ircomm, /dev/ircomm0, /dev/ircomm1, /dev/irnine?
What is the difference between these devices?
Regards,
Graham
