Hi!
I'm trying to use IrLink to sync a visor with my laptop
(a dell inspiron 3000). After much confusion I managed
to understand that I didn't need to do anything in order
to sync using HPSIR, that works great albeit slow.

Now to the second part of my problem, now I'd like to use
IRDA. I have compiled kernel 2.2.14 with 2.2.15pre5 patch
and installed irda-utils-0.9.10.

I get the visor to send discover the notebook and I can send
a test using IrLink that the ircomm receives since I can
see it using cat /dev/ircomm0. I can even make a a serial
conection. But...

when I sync it starts well and then it after a little bit
it stops and the visor reports loosing the connection to
the notebook, leaving the sync incomplete.

I'm sorry I'll have to attach the logs here and this is rather
long, but I guess that is the only way somebody can help me.
Is there anything else I could do or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance,
Mayly

The logs:

Some details on what I've done and what I get:
after a clean boot, as root,
irattach /dev/ttyS1 -s # IR is recognized at that port

then as a user,
pilot-xfer -p /dev/ircomm0 -s backup-dir

that loads the modules:
/sbin/lsmod
