Hi everyone;

  I have a linux laptop equipped with an IrDA and an L7089 motorola
timeport. I am trying to write software to access
the phonebook and SMS facilities from Linux, but I have had no luck
finding any documentation about non-modems commands supported by the
phone.

When you attach the IrDA, you can speak to the phone via terminal,
sending standard AT modem commands. I am guessing there are "special"
commands to access the phonebook (since Starfish's TrueSync does that),
but I have found no docs on any website/faq/manual.

I would very much like to obtain such information or a pointer to it if
anyone has any idea. My program (if I'll ever do it! I will have to give
up if I can't get docs) would obviously be free of any charge.

Thank you for your help...
