Sorry that was my mistake when writing the email! yes I do normally
have:
pppd /dev/irnet 9600 local noauth passive 192.168.0.1:192.168.0.2
on one side (server) and
pppd /dev/irnet 9600 local noauth 192.168.0.2:192.168.0.1
on the other!
I have started the passive one on the desktop machine and then waited a
couple of seconds and then started the laptop and I get much the same
thing ;-(
I can send some more logs, would this help with debugging my problem?
