I have searched the list archives, FAQ and HOWTO and am still not having much joy. Perhaps other Dell users have had similar problems? The error given by irattach when executed as "irattach /dev/ttyS1" is consistently; "Aug 2 19:29:03 harrumph irattach: tcsetattr: Input/output error" The same error occurs with kernels 2.2.12 and 2.2.16 and irda-utils 0.9.4 and 0.9.10. Bizarrely, irattach works on both ttyS0 (real com port) and ttyS2 (pcmcia modem.) Both ttyS1 and the BIOS settings for the IR port are irq=3 and io=0x2f8. Any ideas?
