[Linux-IrDA]ir port on a compaq m700

I there,

i wonder if some of you have already put working the ir port on a compaq laptop
m700, with rh 6.2, kernel 2.2.16.
anyone ??

I have read the linux-ir-howto, and i have tested to sync with my pilot
but doesnt work.
