Hi all,

I'm new at this mailinglist...
Hello to all :)
sorry for the length of this mail...

I've got an Gericom laptop, with smc chipset.
I tried to run irattach on /dev/ttySx but it only works using /dev/ttyS0,
but thats my serial port.
On /dev/ttyS0 irdadump doesn"t recognize any other device... I tried it
with my Palm III. In spite of this irdadump shows some infos:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
12:58:20.184089 xid:cmd 0029217c > ffffffff S=6 s=0 (14)
12:58:20.274081 xid:cmd 0029217c > ffffffff S=6 s=1 (14)

Irdadump doesn't show any other ir-device in range of my lap...

When I try to start irattach to anorther devices in /var/log/messages
the following appears:

Nov 20 13:45:55 Shodan irattach: tcsetattr: Input/output error

Okey now i tried to use the smc-ircc modul, but that doesn't work too.
When I modprobe smc-ircc, the kernel shows:

----------------------------------------------------------

and the module will not be loaded.

okey I rebootet and run the M$ system and started Biosdump.exe from the
howto, and got this:

so I tried to start the modul with params like io=0x03f8 and so...
but it all doesn't work.

Hope someone can help me...
