I have the following problem using ircomm at debian 2.2 on the hardware in
the subject:
Kernel is 2.2.17, Irda-utils are now 0.9.13.
When I try >irattach /dev/ttyS1
irattach terminates with the following in /var/log/syslog:
Dec 20 00:17:03 matthschulzg irattach: device=/dev/ttyS1
Dec 20 00:17:03 matthschulzg irattach: SIR device
Dec 20 00:17:03 matthschulzg irattach: tcsetattr: Input/output error
and therefore:
> pilot-xfer -p /dev/ircomm0 -l
Unable to bind to port '/dev/ircomm0'.
(Please see 'man pilot-xfer' or 'pilot-xfer --help' for information on
setting the port).

I loaded all drivers by hand
modprobe nsc-ircc
modprobe irtty
ifconfig irda0 up (this allocates irq3 to irda in /proc/interrupts)
>lsmod says then:
