With a beam quality of 3/5, discovery at the basic speed of 9600 and traffic at the fastest SIR (115200). For transmitting FIR (4Mb/s), a better beam quality of 4/5 is needed. When pppd starts, it starts at the basic speed, and negotiate the speed for the session, according to the capabilities of the two transmitters, but ignoring the quality of the IR beam. So pppd ask to change speed to FIR, and if th beam quality is only 3/5, it fails on timeout and close. If pppd made a second try at the fastest SIR speed, it could open the session. How can we manage (using /proc/sys/net/irda/max_baud_rate ?) and select the best speed according to beam quality? _______________________________________________ Linux-IrDA mailing list - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.pasta.cs.UiT.No/mailman/listinfo/linux-irda
