Hi,

Your configuration is a bit confusing.
Do you have a analog modem connected to a "POTS" (Plain Old Telephone Switch)
entry of your ISDN phone, or do you have a real ISDN connection.

In other term if you dial directly with a terminal can you see the message
CONNECT 64000 or something else ? (it could be CONNECT 56000, I don't know the
speed of a ISDN line in Peru)

Subject: i need advice - Teles BRI

Hi everybody, I

m using an ISDN connection from my SuSE Linux 6.1 here in Peru.
The line is connected to the COM1 port thorugh an ISDN telephone, so the Linux
"thinks" it is a modem. It seems it causes low performance, as when I connect
the same one to Windows 98 (using the drivers for the phone) its a lot faster
that with SuSE.

So, two questions:

- Is it possible to improve the performance of this telephone? I have no
data available about it, as manufacturer, etc.

- The telephone company here is offering a Teles BRI ISA card, as an
alternative to this phone. Has anybody an experience with this card?

Thanks for support!
