I'm undecided.  For normal usage, certainly there's no issue there.
But I was thinking about TUX-like kernel applications running on big
memory machines -- you'd now only be able to use 8G of the 32G you
purchased because of lack of vmalloc space.

Perhaps it's just not worth worrying about.
