BTW, what's the origin of this oddity in fs/ioctl.c:

        /* SunOS compatibility item. */
        if (O_NONBLOCK != O_NDELAY)
                flag |= O_NDELAY;
#endif

It seems rather odd to have architecture-specific code in the VFS, no?
