Dear scheduler maintainers,
A lockdep splat gets triggered by WARN_ON_ONCE(is_migration_disabled()) in
set_task_cpu().
It seems a race triggerred e.g. by heavy load (in this case: kernel compile or
copying
large files into the filesystem). I don't think this is bcachefs-related,
though, as I
also found the same WARN triggered from other code (see: the second report
below). I have
only the two reports from 7.1.x, pasted below. In the most recent one,
set_task_cpu() got
triggered from mutex_unlock() in bcachefs.bch2_alloc_sectors_done_inlined().
Background on the bcachefs workqueues: The bch2_alloc_sectors_done_inlined can
run
on either bcachefs or bcachefs_copygc workqueue. Both workqueues are allocated
with
WQ_HIGHPRI|WQ_FREEZABLE|WQ_MEM_RECLAIM|WQ_UNBOUND, differing in
alloc_workqueue(max_active)
arg: bcachefs: 512, bcachefs_copygc: 1.
In case this matters, the CPU is AMD Threadripper 7960X (24-core). Source for
the
7.1.8+ kernel is at commit b5522de4e4e1 from git://rere.qmqm.pl/linux staging.
