So I build i386_defconfig and i386_defconfig + CONFIG_SMP=n, installed them in an old gentoo-stage3 userland diskimage and booted it with KVM with only a single CPU, both booted just fine. Then I loaded a module (iptable_nat) and that too worked on both. So I'm a bit at a loss and will need more details. Sadly I do not have access to AMD hardware of that vintage. -- To unsubscribe from this list: send the line "unsubscribe linux-kernel" in the body of a message to [email protected] More majordomo info at http://vger.kernel.org/majordomo-info.html Please read the FAQ at http://www.tux.org/lkml/
