Replace the expression with more concise and readable equivalent. It can
be proven by opening parentheses:

    r & ~((p | i) & r) == r & (~(p | i) | ~r) ==
        (r & ~(p | i)) | (r & ~r) == r & ~(p | i) == r & ~p & ~i
